Training on International Human Rights Mechanisms including the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)

ELDA organized a capacity building training for its members.

A two days training on international human rights mechanisms including the convention on the rights of persons with disabilities (CRPD) was conducted on July 29-30, 2023 in Adama at Tokuma Hotel. In this training a total of 25 trainees, in which 14 participants and 11 assistants took part. Out of the 14 participants 5 of them are female and 9 of them are male.

The main objective of the training was to equip ELDA’s lawyer members with the necessary knowledge on international human rights instruments and mechanisms to enable them to synchronize international human rights instruments in court litigations. The participants were made to deal with practical cases in line with international human rights instruments mainly the CRPD.

This Capacity Building Support, which is believed to maximize the Participation of Lawyers with Disabilities in International and National Human Rights Engagement, is financially supported by Freedom House.
