ELDA, with the financial support of ECDD, organized a networking and new southern chapter establishment event on November 11th 2023.
On this occasion ELDA, with its Executive Director at its helm, travelled to Sidama region, Hawassa city with the purpose of meeting up with members and recruit additional lawyers with disability residing in the southern Ethiopia regions in order to make them part of the ELDAs family. The event included a networking session for attendees to introduce themselves to build well-acquaintance with each other and they were made to give explanation on the particular issues concerning the disability population each like to see addressed specifically in their community. In addition to this, a lawyer and motivation speaker with disability, native to the southern area, joined the meeting to participate on the networking session to be part of the workshop to share his personal experience of being a lawyer with disability. The other fruit full engagement was the chapter initiation task where in addition to getting 8 new members that are also part of the southern nation and nationality chapter, ELDA was able to pick 3 committee members who will be responsible to handle necessary coordination and communication tasks between ELDAs head quarter and the regional chapter for upcoming collaborative works.
